聲光偏轉器可以用來掃描激光束。這是通過改變射頻驅動頻率實現的。隨機位置、連續線掃描和順序點偏移都是可能的。根據晶體、波長和光束大小,可以獲得超過250KHz的掃描速率。
最佳效率要求輸入激光束設置在布拉格角,這是驅動頻率的函數。當掃掠掃描激光束時,由于AOD只能在一個驅動頻率下進行光學對準,因此會產生布拉格角失配。一般來說,這將根據掃描范圍降低效率。可以使用以下幾種技術來盡量減少這種影響:
離軸聲光偏轉器(OAD)利用雙折射晶體的非線性特性,將布拉格角頻率靈敏度降到很低。
電子束引導聲光偏轉器(“-BS")根據射頻驅動頻率對晶體內的聲柱進行電子引導。這就要求換能器上的相控陣電極是具有2或4個射頻輸入。
