Biotin-16-Aminoallyl-2'-deoxycytidine-5'-Triphosphate可用于通過PCR、切口平移、使用Klenow（exo-）DNA聚合酶的引物延伸和末端脫氧核苷酸轉(zhuǎn)移酶標(biāo)記的3'端，將生物素?fù)饺隓NA中。可以使用Moloney鼠白血病病毒（M-MLV）逆轉(zhuǎn)錄酶與此dNTP制備生物素化的cDNA。
