此電極設計與一塊100mm的培養皿（培養皿作為貼壁細胞或組織電穿孔的腔室）一起使用。
操作時先將感興趣的外源分子加到培養皿的電穿孔緩沖液中，緩沖液的體積可從4ml至50ml，電極位于培養皿中緩沖液的底部，接觸樣品然后放電。
材質為不銹鋼電極間有平行的2mm的間隙，可形成均一的電場。petri dish電極適用于絕大多數的電穿孔儀。
