睪酮(Testosterone)又稱睪丸素、睪丸酮、睪甾酮,是分泌到血液中的最重要的雄性激素之一,由孕烯醇酮合成,孕烯醇酮本身由膽固醇形成。睪酮由男性的睪丸或女性的卵巢分泌,腎上腺亦分泌少量睪酮,其具有維持肌肉強度及質量、維持骨質密度及強度、提神及提升體能等作用。在成人中,每天大約合成5毫克睪酮,并在血漿中循環,主要與蛋白質結合,包括特異性激素結合球蛋白(SHBG)和非特異性蛋白質如白蛋白。據報道,生物可利用的睪酮包括游離類固醇和白蛋白結合類固醇,它們約占總睪酮的35%。
