AVAILABLE WITH CORRECTED EXCITATION
The SPECTROFLUOROMETERS are precision instruments of exceptional quality and flexibility. The high performance characteristics of these instruments make them ideal for use in research studies, while their proven reliability and durability is documented by their use in many clinical laboratories for performing repetitive tests with a large number of samples.
General areas of application include biochemical, clinical, forensic medicine and narcotics, air and water pollution, pharmaceutical, pharmacology, polymers, dyes, petrochemicals, detergents, agriculture, food, inorganic minerals and ores, phosphors for electronics, and immunofluorescence.
It offers fluorescence detectors for every need- from quality control and other repetitive testing to the most sophisticated research. These instruments provide the following:
* Double Monochromator Scanning, 200-900nm
* Corrected Spectra
* Synchronous Dual Emission Detection- "T" Configuration
* Flow cells for HPLC
* TLC Detectors
* Phosphorescence Attachment
* Cryogenic Attachment
* Luminometer Attachment
* Auto Sampler Attachment
Illumination Source
All of FOCI"s Spectrofluorometers use continuous operating lamp illumination sources, rather than pulsed illumination sources. The advantages of a continuously operating source are:
* Low Instrument Noise: as exemplified by the higher signal to noise ratio obtained when measuring the
Raman phenomenon of solvents (350 /1 or greater).
* Stability: The continuous operating lamp assembly incorporates an arc lamp stabilizer to reduce the noise and arc wander.
* Ozone Free Operation: the lamps are mounted into a sealed housing to contain and prevent ozone
from entering the atmosphere.
* Ratio Compensation: the excitation source"s energy is separay measured (with a LSD ) and this signal is used to compensate for changes in the illumination energy level.
Monochromators
All of its Spectrofluorometers incorporate high performance monochromators that provide the following:
* Aperture/Focal Length - equal to 3.5; to provide maximum throughput of excitation or emission energy (use of large diameter mirrors minimizes loss of energy in the monochromator).
* Resolution - fixed slit widths ranging from 0.25 to 20.0nm can be used.
* Wavelength Range - 190 to 900nm for both excitation and emission, including zero order.
Photomultiplier Detectors
The Photomultiplier Tube and its associated circuitry used in these instruments are unique to it. All photomultiplier tubes are individually tested for compliance to its specifications for low dark current, low noise, high gain, and low drift characteristics. In operation, each of the eleven dynode voltages are individually regulated for maximum stability and long life.
Adaptability
It offers over 50 different major accessories, attachments, and adapters to meet your present or future instrument requirements. Please refer to the following pages for details.
Note: 1) FOCI continues to maintain an inventory of spare parts and accessories to service most of our instruments sold since 1970.
2) If requested, we would be pleased to quote on any special requirements you may have that are not covered by our standard instrument or accessories.
